11/20/09     Road Striping is complete

***10/15/09 ***Carroll County ***Meeting with Maryland Transportation Secretary Beverley K. Swaim-Staley

This is another very important meeting. We need Carroll County and Howard County residence at this meeting. If we have a good showing on both sides of the county line regarding 32 we will magnify the level of importance to the Maryland Decision makers. The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) will conduct their Annual Tour Meeting on Thursday, October 15th at 2:30 pm in Room 003 of the Carroll County Office Building, 225 North Center Street in Westminster.  Anyone who is interested in Route 32 improvements may be interested in attending. It is important for all of our elected officials and the staff at MDOTto understand the urgency of this long overdue road improvement for our communities, both in Carroll and in Howard County

10/05/09  This was a great meeting.... Thank You State Highway Administration. Meeting with leadership team and State Highway to discuss and hopefully implement final plan for route 32 phase 1 emergency safety plans.

10/12/09 Construction and Installation of left turn lanes for Day Road, Amberwoods, River Road

9-17-2009 This Meeting with Maryland Transportation Secretary Beverley K. Swaim-Staley was very successful in sending our message of concern to the top people in Maryland Government. Our community members that showed up to support the meeting and those that spoke I commend you. We made our point very clear!!!

8/24/09  We discussed which lane configuration(s) will best serve our needs and the feedback we have received from our neighbors at this meeting. As well we discussed funding, and Ken Ulman's strong support to make route 32 safe.

8/18/09Great meeting Delegate Bates, Miller, Howard County officials, Police, Maryland State Highway. We presented our requests. SHA presented plans to allow for dedicated left turn lanes for each community. Traffic study in Sept-Nov to evaluate Day Road, Amberwoods Way, and River Rd for Red Light Signals. Hopefully next spring we will see change when 32 get resurfaced. Email campaign soon for funding. Be ready!

8/13/09The Makeroute32safe.com Leadership Team Met with Ginnie Gick (Ken Ulman’s assistant) & Diane Schwarzman, Chief Howard County Hwys, Traffic Engineering Div on  8/13/09 to discuss the creation of Focus Groups and realistic fixes to Route 32 that can be completed in a reasonable amount of time.

7/30/09 Congratulations on a great meeting on July 30th! We had a fantastic turnout. We estimated over 250 families came to the meeting. Our elected officials understand your concerns and our demands to get this road fixed immediately. Your turn out has put Route 32 on the top of list for roads that need fixed. Working together as a community we will get the safety changes we desperately need. We have a lot to be proud of and a great deal of work to do.
